# Exports

Learn how to export what you need from your nest.

The Export page is the home for one-time downloads built from your included studies. Generate these files, take them elsewhere, and these will not update automatically.

If you want an output that stays current as your nest changes and remains visible on your shareable **Synthesis** page, see [set up Synthesis outputs.](/review-workflow/synthesis/set-up-synthesis-outputs.md)

### Choose An Export

Before building anything, confirm you're in the right place:

### What's In This Section

**Built here:**

* [**Custom Tables**](/review-workflow/exports/custom-tables.md) — build a table of included studies with the exact rows, filters, and columns you choose.
* [**CER Builder**](/review-workflow/exports/cer-builder.md) — build specific documentation exports for Clinical Evaluation Reports (CERs).
* [**Smart Insights**](/review-workflow/synthesis/set-up-synthesis-outputs/smart-insights.md) — a one-time Word document of Insight, Claim, and Evidence content (also built in Dashboard Editor).

**Linked from here, since each also has its own export option:**

* [**Dashboard Editor**](/review-workflow/synthesis/set-up-synthesis-outputs/dashboard-editor.md) — living table and insight cards, plus one-off downloads of individual cards.
* [**Manuscript Editor**](/review-workflow/synthesis/set-up-synthesis-outputs/manuscript-editor.md) — your full written report, exported as a Word document.
* [**Synthesis Chat**](/review-workflow/synthesis/navigate-synthesis-outputs/synthesis-chat.md) — spreadsheets, documents, figures, and RIS files generated on request.
* [**Download from Inspector**](/review-workflow/study-inspector/download-from-inspector.md) — bulk exports of study metadata, screening decisions, tags, extracted data, critical appraisal, and full-text PDFs across the whole nest.

### FAQs

<details>

<summary>I want to export my written Manuscript — where do I go?</summary>

[Manuscript Editor](/review-workflow/synthesis/set-up-synthesis-outputs/manuscript-editor.md) — export the whole document as a Word file in one click, from the three-dot menu.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I'd rather describe what I want than build it by hand — where do I go?</summary>

[Synthesis Chat](/review-workflow/synthesis/navigate-synthesis-outputs/synthesis-chat.md) — describe the spreadsheet, document, or figure you want, and it's generated directly from your nest's data.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I need just a RIS file or just the PDFs — where do I go?</summary>

[Download from Inspector](/review-workflow/study-inspector/download-from-inspector.md) covers both, alongside the rest of the bulk export options.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I built a table here — can I turn it into a living Dashboard card instead?</summary>

Not automatically from this page, but the Table Builder in [Dashboard Editor](/review-workflow/synthesis/set-up-synthesis-outputs/dashboard-editor.md) is the identical builder — rebuild the same configuration there if you want it to persist and update.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.nested-knowledge.com/review-workflow/exports.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
